Office Manager
Kim McCready
Kim McCready is the Office Manager at Sunset Hills Country Club. Her employment began at Sunset Hills in October 2019 as Youth Center and Nursery and Operations Manager. As Office Manager, Kim’s primary responsibility is assisting all department heads of the club including our Chef, Director of Sales, General Manager and our Food and Beverage Manager. Kim is the club’s communication specialist to inform our membership of upcoming events, menus, and weekly specials as well as club hours of operation. Kim works diligently with the membership committee to plan and market member events and youth activities. Kim answers and directs member calls to the appropriate staff member to assist with member needs. Kim manages the youth center, nursery as well as the pool staff during the summer. Kim has lived in Carrollton since 2003. Kim is a mom of three and a grand mother of four. In her spare time, Kim enjoys cooking, the beach, and everything involving her grand children.
 
Director of Sales
LeAnne Reese
LeAnne Reese is the Director of Sales for Sunset Hills Country Club and a licensed real estate agent in the State of Georgia. She is responsible for membership sales and relations for the club. As Director of Sales, LeAnne also promotes, schedules and manages all banquet events, including but not limited to private parties, business meetings and seminars, showers, wedding and receptions. LeAnne is a Carrollton native and has worked in hospitality her entire career. LeAnne has degree in Marketing Management and holds a certification from Club Managers Association of America. She has years of First Class Service training by the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company. She is often complimented on her “wits” style of management, also known as a “Whatever It Takes” approach to exceed the expectations of members and clients.
 
Executive Chef
Christopher Hempfling
Chef Chris Hempfling was born in Charlotte, North Carolina. He began his career in kitchens at a family owned restaurant in the mountains of North Carolina at the age of 13. After working at Myers Park Country Club for 3 years, one of the top clubs in the country, Chris moved to Raleigh, NC to take an Executive Sous Chef role at The Governors Club in Chapel Hill NC. After 3 years at GC Chris began his almost 7 year career at Carolina Country Club in Raleigh as the fine dining and banquet chef. CCC is one of the oldest and most prestigious country clubs in the state with several distinctions including being an Emerald and Platinum club of America. Chris recently moved to Villa Rica Georgia this August to take on the role of Executive Chef here at Sunset Hills Country Club. He is an avid sports fan, all NC, and reader. Chris is working towards getting his Certified Executive Chef certificate from the American Culinary Federation.
 
Director of Golf
Justin Japour
Justin Japour joined the Sunset Hills family at the beginning of 2010 and is a Class “A” PGA Certified Professional with a Master’s Degree in Business Management. Mr. Japour has been in the golf business since 1998 and has received PGA Certifications in Golf Operations as well as Teaching & Coaching. In College, he played at Valdosta State University where he earned Academic All-American, Honorable Mention All-American, and Student Athlete- of- The Year. Mr. Japour started his golf professional career with Sequoia Golf Clubs. While at Sequoia, he was responsible for golf operations at multiple clubs simultaneously, high traffic facilities, and low volume clubs while being accountable for member satisfaction, service, and profitability. Through all of his experience, Mr. Japour has maintained a deep rooted passion for golf as his main goal is to give the best all around experience possible at Sunset Hills Country Club.

CJ McCullough
Christopher “CJ” McCullough is originally from Acworth, Georgia where he attended Harrison High School and played 4 years of high school golf. After high school, CJ attended Mississippi State University earning a degree in business administration along with completing the PGA Golf Management Program. Throughout the Golf Management Program CJ earned his PGA Membership along with having worked at 3 different private clubs as an intern. Junior golf is CJ’s passion because it allows him to work with kids and grow the game of golf. CJ feels that golf can help develop our youth with social skills, honesty, and perseverance all while developing lifelong friends. CJ looks forward to using his passion for golf and junior programing to serve Sunset Hills Country Club.
 
Golf Course Superintendent
Adam Hoffman C.G.C.S
Adam has served as Golf Course Superintendent at Sunset Hills since the beginning of 2018. He also served as the courses Assistant Golf Course Superintendent from 2010-2014. He is a graduate of the University of Tennessee in 2004 with a degree in Ornamental Horticulture and Landscape Design with a concentration in Turfgrass Management. Adam has worked in many various roles in golf since 1995 including 10 years as an Assistant Superintendent at several clubs and several Superintendent roles since 2014.

Derek Hendricks
A native of Maryville, Tennessee, Derek was raised in Carrollton before studying History at Tulane University in New Orleans, and Georgia Tech for a semester while evacuated for Hurricane Katrina. In 2008 he joined the staff at Sunset Hills, working his way up to the position of Assistant Golf Course Superintendent in 2017. In his spare time he enjoys reading, wood turning, and spending time with his cat and his loveable mutt, Zoë.
